Real talk though, if they never put out another pokemon game, I would drop nintendo like a hot iron. I'd just buy a steam deck and say "Oh well. That sucks" if a game I wanted wasn't on steam.
My emotional attachment to pokemon is the only thing holding me on.

I can't even think of any other nintendo exclusive games I'd care about. Except maybe Fantasy Life? But I'm willing to miss out on those in favour of access to the majority of my steam library of over 200 games, easy emulation of classics, and the joy of not paying Nintendo money to fuck me over.

Like, I'm about as done with Nintendo as I am with Windows, only I have a deep emotional need to be up to date on the mainline pokemon games because otherwise I'll feel like I've lost another piece of my mom's memory if I can't go through them all "OH mom would love that pokemon!" while playing.

Windows isn't as lucky. Though I've had to admit to myself I'll have to get windows as my next PC because the one I've got my eyes on will not have enough saved up for by the time I need a new comp, but I'm not going to let myself be AS invested in it, and will be testing out unbuntu on it.

Like, it's a series that helps me retain the memory of my dead mom, who I used to play with and trade with all the time. My mom who tried to make a living dex all the way back in gen 1, and I helped her out.
What is keeping me with nintendo is JUST that at this point.

I haven't played a Mario game newer than The Year Of Luigi. Until I can get them for 20 bucks I have no plans of getting any of the modern Zelda games, especially not the open world ones. Every Fire Emblem game after Awakening has my eyes glaze over at the mere mention.

@GreyWays Yep, they go after all kinds of fan projects and other works and even cancelling unlicensed Smash Bros. tournaments in the last minute.
