Alex Kid in Miracle World DX is quite neat. You can switch between the 8 bit graphics and modern graphics on the go. The game plays identically. #gaming#retrogaming
The modern look is nice, but it's easier to spot and avoid enemies with the classic look.
@freemo I find it best to avoid movies or TV series that seem like cash grabs, they usually are. If a movie(or series of movies) or TV series had a perfectly good conclusion and then all of a sudden, there's a prequel, remaining, remake, or whatever, I just avoid it now... unless it comes with a reliable recommendation.
That's how I ended up watching Top Gun Maverick, but not this.
@trinsec@freemo 2023 was different, but normally NES and 2600 for me. Those are my two most used systems of all time :) In recent years C64 has taken some of my time too.
@freemo@trinsec for me the 8 bit era is still strongest in terms of long-term replayability. I've been playing Donkey Kong, California Games, Yars' Revenge, Seaquest, etc... since the 80s! All games I regularly revisit and enjoy. I can't imagine playing Cyberpunk 2077 in 2050.
@freemo I once had a work lunch with a female colegue who was several pegs up the ladder from me. She spent the entire meal telling me about the "vagina wall" in Australia.
To this day, I don't know if she was testing me, sexually harassing me, or she was just bloody insensitive. Because I was deeply uncomfortable.
This is my social account, I'll discuss some work stuff but will mostly toot about video games, tech, retro computing, and cars (specially EVs and 4x4s).#Linux I don't use Arch BTW.#Latino #British #Venezuela Gaming on various old system from 2600 onwards, and a Steam Deck and XBox Series S.Best superhero: Scrooge McDuckLocations: #UK and #Philippines
