I think this was the one: https://antiquipop.hypotheses.org/eng/6707eng
It was great to be reminded of poring over the details on the cover as a teenager, like “Indiana Jones was here 1941” and “Wot? No guiness”.

I've never stopped listening to those 80s albums, and certain others.
I've got an article somewhere wherecan Egyptologist analyses the imagery on the Powerslave sleeve. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Thanks to my school mate Kevin, who bought it on cassette and brought it over to my house. Started a lifelong love affair (with Maiden and Powerslave, though not with Kevin).
Before then, I used to pore over the artwork on the posters in our local K-Mart - artwork from the cover, Aces High and Two Minutes.
I'm going to see them for the first time next week.
Ok I'm going to shamelessly repeat myself today for #TuneTuesday from @VestigialLung and @Kitty.
For #TheLongGoodbye, or songs with really long outros, I'm getting out my heels for Prince and Purple Rain. As always with Prince, too much is never enough.
After the main part of the song, lay back for a grand, multi-part finale of keening guitar, twinkling piano, vocals, cymbals and crowd noise, before the strings draw out the mood again. 💜
@HauntedOwlbear Thanks, that gives me a better idea what to expect.
I normally enjoy power metal in smaller doses, but I'm a sucker for a good melody and pop hook (must be growing up on ABBA and Queen.) Over the top is good in that context too.
@HauntedOwlbear I will have to listen to more. It was quite the stomp to wake up with at 4.30 this morning.
Up early and a two-hour drive this morning, so it's time to wake myself up with the power metal song I've had stuck in my head for the last two days - Beast in Black's Blind and Frozen.
Castles, angst, snow, fair maiden, enigmatic jewellery, synchronised headbanging, it's all there in the video.
Thanks to @HauntedOwlbear for the tip, but I had to see what "the incredibly camp power metal band with the wildly talented singer" was all about.
