Happy 40th anniversary to Iron Maiden's #Powerslave album that released on Sept. 3, 1984. I think it was my first Maiden album I ever got when I was like 14 and just getting into heavy music. I still have my original CD. It's probably my favorite Maiden record. Love all the songs and the great artwork too.

Thanks to my school mate Kevin, who bought it on cassette and brought it over to my house. Started a lifelong love affair (with Maiden and Powerslave, though not with Kevin). Before then, I used to pore over the artwork on the posters in our local K-Mart - artwork from the cover, Aces High and Two Minutes.
I'm going to see them for the first time next week.

I've never stopped listening to those 80s albums, and certain others.
I've got an article somewhere wherecan Egyptologist analyses the imagery on the Powerslave sleeve. I'll have to see if I can find it. -

I think this was the one: https://antiquipop.hypotheses.org/eng/6707engIt was great to be reminded of poring over the details on the cover as a teenager, like “Indiana Jones was here 1941” and “Wot? No guiness”.
