Trans rights are human rights.

Before the holidays, I had decided to create some mugs with a representation of the trans pride flag and donate a portion of the proceeds to our local gender affirming closet.

I am happy to that my first two prototypes are out of the kiln and I have confirmed our local centre will accept donations.

One of the mugs holds 8oz, the other 12oz and are priced accordingly. We will donate $20 and $30 from the proceeds of these mugs.

As some of you may recall, it was this October that I decided to relaunch my website and try to give the pottery a go.

A month later, our postal service decided to strike. Things were going well till then, but today I accept the fact any holiday sales are lost, and we won't be getting our Christmas box from home.

I never thought I'd have to write this, but here we go.

If you've never spoken to me before, and ask me for recipes for my glaze, I'll politely redirect your question. You are literally asking for my work for free.

If you send me an eye roll emoji after I've tried being polite that won't change my answer.

I'm not sure why people think it's okay to treat artists like this, asking for free labour and being rude, but it's exactly why I have these boundaries.

The mother in law asked us to go visit them in Arizona (they winter there) and I very quickly shut that idea down. I'm not risking my safety or travelling to places where people vote against my human rights.

In Greek mythology, a little owl represents or accompanies Athena and has become known as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom attesting to the staying power of the Olympians. The whispers of Athena's legacy are everywhere.

The symbology of the owl has often inspired my own journey. The ability to see through the darkness of life and find knowledge is a potent totem.
