@killyourfm I can only imagine. I've done some endurance multi day cycling and it leaves me feeling a way too. Both physically and emotionally.
Do you find it deeply healing though? As if these emotions had to come out at some point

@killyourfm oh dude I didn't know you were out here. Nice. If you find yourself up in Olympia, WA let me know, id love to take you out for a coffee or meal. Gorgeous area this is
Don't do it kids! I've seen this movie.
@steter watching from up here in Olympia waiting for it to hit
“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it.”
@Infoseepage @Nonilex cell phone charger lol
Man, they just don't make batteries like they used to!!
@thelinuxEXP @killyourfm you're both amazing content creators, and we're lucky to have you in our industry!
@killyourfm hahha your right. Everything gets smaller, except gpus which now likely outsize and weight motherboards.
So glad I only game on my deck haha
Excited to announce that I'll be speaking again at #lfnw2025 #lfnw LinuxFestNW!
This year the talk is:
"Building a Chromebook replacement with NixOS"
Description in the comments! Of course I had to do another talk about #nixos and #Linux
"As Linux users, we often install Linux for friends and family, but many struggle with updates, packaging quirks, and system maintenance—leaving you to fix issues and them frustrated.
Instead of simply suggesting they get a Chromebook, what if we could create a similar experience with NixOS? My Nixbook project delivers automatic updates, easy Flatpak app installs, and sane defaults for everyday users.
In this talk, I’ll share how I built it and made it work flawlessly."
#Eagles defense be like "why just stop them when we could just TAKE the ball?!"
@stumblewyk @nfl I feel like we're getting a quarterback sampler this game
@ATLeagle of course now we get to try in McGee
Eagles fans right now:
"OK Pickett, will give you another shot. Not bad. Not bad at all..."
@Nickiquote it's getting harder and harder to find simple devices that just do their job.
@killyourfm haha indeed. Cheers! And yes, ironically I've gotten some of my fave old Xbox 360 games going on the deck too.
I don't even consider myself a big gamer, but the deck and steam make me feel like one. And it's great.
@killyourfm ok well how about this. Theyre owned long-term. Games I bought 10 years ago are still installing and playing. And I can even share with my kids.
That's unheard of in console land. You end up buying those games over and over.
I suppose that's what I meant. Buy once and always be able to install and play.
@killyourfm but you are correct that it's not fully owned. It makes me groan a bit, but valve has really made this tradeoff worth it.
Esp when I got my stream deck, I installed Skyrim and it picked up my saved game from 7 years ago lol. That's wild and cool
Sometimes people give me crazy looks when I say all my kids have their own #SteamDeck
Yes, it's a bigger initial investment than giving them Nintendo switches, but then you're plugged into a whole world of affordable games you actually own.
Pair that with the steam family account and game sharing... The cost makes up for itself within a year I think.
And my kids couldn't be happier. Me too.
Hope Santa dropped some steamdecks on y'all this year!
