@scott @seachanger @AdrianRiskin yeah that blog post is just kinda bizarre and I agree that it mostly comes across as a roundabout attempt to silence/tone-police people speaking up for Palestinian liberation. if Zionists object to being compared to Nazis then maybe they should stop acting like Nazis... and if Israel wasn't a genocidal fascist regime then the comparison to the Nazis would simply come across as absurd--the comparison strikes a nerve because it's accurate.

@abolisyonista I agree 100% that degrowth is necessary and I don't think new nuclear power plants are worth building (at this point solar and wind are faster, cheaper, and more easily decentralized) but I wouldn't be particularly concerned about living near an existing nuclear power plant. it's less dangerous to your health than, say, living near a busy highway or any number of industrial sites

@nickmartin it's very misleading to call the ADL a "Jewish advocacy organization". the ADL is a right-wing Israel lobby group with a decades-long track record of racism and Islamophobia that uses their public image as some sort of "anti-hate" group as political cover to get liberals to treat them as a credible source. (here's a good overview of the ADL's history: https://www.alternet.org/2013/02/how-anti-defamation-league-fuels-islamophobia) and this isn't to defend Elon Musk in the slightest, he's obviously just attacking the ADL because he's a fascist billionaire and an antisemite. but please don't treat the ADL like they're some sort of decent organization or like they actually advocate for Jews (rather than just for the far-right ruling regime of the Israeli state) just because they're being attacked by a fascist billionaire
