I just noticed that the #GNOME implementation of the global shortcuts portal was finally merged 🎉 Thanks to everyone who worked on it!

A new #Hieroglyphic update has been released, bringing a number of improvements:
- Improved classifier, which now includes the nearly 500 user-contributed symbols, thanks to everyone who helped.
- The backend infrastructure has been updated to make it easier for future improvements to the classifier.
- The drawing area has been rewritten to use GTK4's rendering capabilities instead of Cairo.
They said not to release on a Friday, so I released on Christmas instead: https://crates.io/crates/udisks2/0.3.1
❌ : Optimizing my n² algorithm
✅ : Optimizing a single function to be branchless (still got a 50% speedup)
I like Rust so much that I even rewrote my Rust project in Rust.
After the success with STF, we were discussing new funding ideas for #GNOME
Just in case someone doesn't get it, but this is obviously a joke
@BeAware It is, though it may be only exposed in the deck/advanced interface.
Once you added a new hashtag column, there should be a settings icon to click, which shows the options to add or remove additional hashtags.
@BeAware If I understand correctly, No. 2 is natively built into Mastodon. I don't think there's any limit (or it's high enough that I haven't experienced it yet)
E. g. for Moshidon/Megalodon you can add more hashtags to a group by going to the timelines menu, tapping on a hashtag timeline, than show advanced.
@Artilaina @thomasfuchs That's because Mastodon doesn't support them yet. I think it displays correctly on servers that support it, though I may be mistaken. Apparently it's on the roadmap (https://joinmastodon.org/roadmap item MAS-48), so this may be resolved properly in the future.
This is going to be unpopular, but I really wish I had telemetry on the applications I contribute to. It's often really hard to decide how much time to invest in fixing/developing features without having any idea if anyone is using them.
Most people know of the debate about how to pronounce #GIF, but did you know that #png is pronounced ping?
@forteller Have you already created an issue on the Flatpak GitHub/ given +1 to the existing ones?
It's often hard for maintainers/developers to know what users want if none of them give direct feedback :)
The _real_ reason why I contribute to FOSS projects :P
It's crazy how, with all the #AI hype, no one has yet developed a system that generates good #AltText for images. Seems like one of the few things AI could be good at and actually improve the world for once.
