Today Big Dumper went yard for the 54th time on the first pitch he saw, and tied Mickey Mantle for the most dingers by a switch-hitter in the history of MLB. The Mick set the mark in 1961.

Sadaharu Oh at 55 taters next. Junior awaits with 56.

Seattle Pilots were in existence for an entire season, and played their opening series in 1969 against the California Angels at the Big A in Anaheim.

Pilots' field, Sicks Stadium, was home to the AAA affiliate of the California Angels from 1965 to 1968. Of course, they were called the Seattle Angels.

Seattle Mariners hosted the California Angels in their opening series as well, and the 1977 season began at the Kingdome in Seattle.

These two franchises have a lot of history and connections beyond the only time Edgar Martínez was ejected in his career. He was not happy after being plunked by Lou Pote.

Baseball fans who have faced immense challenges deserve more than being exploited by MLB to help their bottom line with public relations.
