@BeAware@Maj@pixelfed.social But I would have to ask all the people I harassed into following my Mastodon-bridged-to-BS to follow the the pixelfed-bridged-to-BS instead/in addition?
@Maj@pixelfed.social So posted cat on my pixelfed, which I then boost/reshare from my Mastodon, so it will go out to my followers on BS and Threads... A bit weird/convoluted but it works?
I appreciate both your help and not trying to hold y'all responsible for the ux here! I know there's a lot of work happening on how things do/should work between fediveres platforms and we're in early days with a lot of onboarding happening for new folks.
It's just a hard sell for people who are used to "Open reddit, read, comment" to have to have multiple tabs open, browse / find things on different instances, then switch back to Mastodon cut-and-paste urls into search, then create a post, then go grab the community name to @ it. I'll come back to this when I have more bandwidth to play around. Thanks again!
@evan@StarTrekScreens This is my fav to whip out when anyone complains that ST has suddenly become 'political'... not because I think it will change someone's mind if their media literacy is that poor to begin with but just because it's so iconic.
@evan@Maj@pixelfed.social Yes, but 1. do people really have to do their own math to get that? it's nowhere in the UI... and 2. it wasn't showing up in search before but now see it.
Is this what folks are doing? Create a pixelfed account and then follow yourself here and bost your own photo posts? Or am I missing a smarter way?
I'm going to guess it would be maj@pixelfed.social but 1. that has no results when I search from mastodon and 2. kinda a PITA in general for people to easily /quickly share their profile and/or fediverse findable username?
@evan it's not collective but it feels that way because we're all running the same hardware (more or less) and we hang out with people with the same input (more or less)
I argue semantics, professionally.I also swear a lot.She/her, but they/them is cool.[avatar image is a middle aged white woman with glasses under pink/purple/blue lighting][header is a large sign reading "Stop Casting Porosity"]
