@luis_in_brief@evan the bridge is working fine for me -- I'm using it to interact with folks who have no idea about fediverse or mastodon or anything. Do you just mean knowing who's using the bridge & finding their accounts? That's the only PITA I've found.
The Guardian has announced it will no longer post content on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, from its official accounts. [...] it considered the benefits of being on the platform formerly called Twitter were now outweighed by the negatives, citing the “often disturbing content” found on it.
“We wanted to let readers know that we will no longer post on any official Guardian editorial accounts on the social media site X,”
I tried to find coverage of the same news in the French press (La Presse, Radio Canada, etc.), to see how it was reported there but couldn't find anything...
@BeAware I want one account as well, just fine grain control of who sees what. I'm not even mentioning the very firm wall between all the social platforms I mentioned vs my Reddit, Tumblr, and A03 identities (may those streams never cross). But, you may also just have a better integration between your public/personal persona.
Hrmmm. When I saw that photos posted to Instagram go to FB, I was delighted. But now Insta stuff also shows up on Threads and I'm not into it.
I kinda want text/hot takes to be on Threads/Mastodon (i.e. public space) and photos/events/personal stuff to be in the Insta/FB world (more personal space).
I didn't know I wanted this until I saw it. Will be interesting to one day have a single place to be managing this all.
I argue semantics, professionally.I also swear a lot.She/her, but they/them is cool.[avatar image is a middle aged white woman with glasses under pink/purple/blue lighting][header is a portion of a painting of a window]
