Earlier today I got my head around how to reply to PeerTube comments from Mastodon.
It was one of those things I figured was probably possible, but never found the answer when googling.
You have to copy and paste a link to the thread id into Mastodon, which is hidden in the timestamp beside the comment.

@reay when I first moved here I found the size “letter” so confusing the first time I encountered it. I thought the printer was expecting me to put envelopes in it. Kept checking the tray and trying to figure out why it thought my document was “a letter”.

I think Elon and Zuck have miscalculated and are going to get themselves regulated and banned in Europe.

#Quebec just started unionizing the Amazon warehouses.
So Amazon is closing them so they can subcontract to gig worker delivery companies.
Those Canadians were on their way to stable, dignified jobs.
Now Amazon is there holding up the decapitated head of Quebec workers, waving it around for other jurisdictions to get a look at.

It's time for government intervention.

It does seem like Silicon Valley firms maneuvering politically right now could be sacrificing billions of global users to retain… I guess the ability to do what they want for a while longer with 300 million users.
It would be interesting to know how much they gamed it out.

@evan that’s an interesting idea. I do wonder how governments with highly censored internets will handle federation.
When I lived in China, lots of sites like Reddit were still unblocked because I assume they didn’t have the resources to track and judge everything on the internet.

When @heliomass and I hung out a while back we were talking about #threads users who haven't federated yet.

It's a good one, technocratic, right down the center politically.
The progressive conservatives should just swing in and support this. No-one is going to trust what they pitch next on housing and there's plenty here that aligns with their economic philosophy.

He's a measured and reasonable environmental type actually trying to find common ground.

Peertube 6 just added the ability to replace videos and password protect videos. These are two big wins in the @peertube column for me vs YouTube.
I'd love to see some sort of membership or synchronization with Patreon. Kind of need to figure out how to get paid without YouTube in the picture for it to really takeoff.
