You can actually say "severe lack of critical thinking skills" when that's what you mean instead of saying "severe cognitive deficit?" Because there are actually a fuckload of people who have very little in the way of critical thinking skills and no cognitive deficit at all.

The thing that the NTs don't consider is that when you have sensory sensitivities, you tend to think of sex as a very sensory activity, and it also tends to make you very attentive to that sort of thing. I'm not saying we fuck better than all the NTs but, you know, we probably fuck better than *a lot* of NT.

So, heads up for anybody else in #Illinois and is on #Medicaid. I found out today that #Walgreens is no longer enrolled in the IL Medicaid pharmacy plan. I did not receive any notification of this from either Walgreens or Medicaid. So you might want to call member services for whatever insurance company you have through Medicaid and talk to somebody in the pharmacy department to get a list of pharmacies near you that are still in network.

Friendly reminder. I know people like to put emojis of stuff they like or are interested in their display name, but when you’ve got more than 2 or 3 of them, it makes reading your posts with a screen reader really tedious because the screen reader also reads out the coded descriptions of all those emojis. It makes it take a while for your screen name to be read out even before getting to the text of your post. It makes reading your threads unendurable, no matter how important the content is.

There are reasons that a thing disabled people say frequently is, “Nobody gives a fuck about us but us,” and you can see most of them on display on fedi daily. Doesn’t matter that’s it’s decentralized. Where there are abled people more concerned with maintaining their self-image of being a Good Person™ through selective self-examination, there will be capitulation to eugenicist violence.

#Tech question for other #blind people. Is anybody else unable to activate links in messages on the #Signal #IOS app? I'm running the latest OS version and app version, but can't find a way to activate links either in the #Voiceover rotor or the context menu that comes up when you double tap and hold.

@PacificNic Just here to say I appreciate putting the word "lockdowns" in its proper place by having the quotes around it. Nothing we experienced here in the US came close to anything that could accurrately be described as lockdowns. People continuing to unironically use that framing is part of what's keeping us in a continual state of crisis.
