Number of days since somebody makes a general suggestion that ppl run to Canada to escape US fascism without knowing that the vast majority of nation states don't accept disabled people as immigrants and that Canada will quite literally offer disabled people assistance in dying before offering them assistance in living: 0

Neither USAID workers nor ppl working in a presidential admin are likely to be leftists of any kind and even they are now saying Biden is directly complicit in genocide. This is the most obvious, high-profile example of the liberal-fascist bargain playing out over nearly 8 fucking months now. I do not know what more anyone needs to see to acknowledge that.

Not that I think corporate or even governmental DEI is a solution to the problems re -isms in society but it's notable to me as a disabled person that biden last election ran on improving SSI--including both raising the asset cap and benefits amounts--and what happened instead is that neither of those things came to pass and instead the federal government's DEI office got dissolved for something called the office of talent management that could not sound more neoliberal if they tried.

Disabled people have been saying “normalize disability” for a long time now but we did not mean that the state should let a level 3 pathogen rip through the entire population and then tell everybody that severe brain fog, heart palpitations, lung damage, and chronic fatigue are all normal so make sure you just keep buying shit and going to work.
