If you self-host services on the internet, you may have seen waves of crawlers hammering your websites without mercy.

To annoy them and protect my services from DDoS, I decided to setup an iocaine instance, along with NSoE... And it worked... Too well.

Recently, they started flooding my VPS so much it started choking.

• Have a service exposed on a domain name matching knowledge.DOMAIN?
• Notice heavy waves of crawlers accessing this specific domain?
• (optional) Use iocaine or a similar poisoning tool?

I'm also interested if you have multiple subdomains protected by iocaine and notice one in particular gets hit.

About that AWS thing.
I remember that nearly all examples of AWS API usage use us-east-1 as a DC.

Seeing services break in other regions (here in Europe), should we interpret this as folks who didn't change the default DC and are hosting everything in the US? :blob_fucking_weird_cat:

I won't even mention telegram channels on which they post an art, and then you look at the source, and the source has some slight differences (shading, different shapes of ears, more patterns on the body...)...

Either they took an old version (happens, but I don't know if you can update artworks on sites like FA for example), either they took a picture of a WIP and posted it before the actual art got published, either they took the WIP image and used whatever AIgen they found to "finish" the art.

The latter already happened several time...
