    @mia i didn't even know you could just edit and extend them in the past :blobcatgoogly: i tend to use it so infrequently it gets lost, but i set the expiries to about a birthday forward, which is fine because you're supposed to be doing this anyway :blobdeegoogly:

    @mia there was something about needing the gpg keys and shit in order for it to turn green and show up as verified in github

    though its stupid because when the key expires (which they all should) the old commits are no longer 'verified'

    @mia i tried the fun localpart trick for a while. but github doesn't like it, because it wants your mail to match the gpg key, and gpg keys match exact strings. making sure of localpart helps a bit since it adds traceability/revocability.

    i was going to mention https://simplelogin.io/ but apparently they sold to proton. damn.

    spam is probably unsolvable in general. its fundamentally an invitation problem (how do you deal with creating new relationships on purpose?)

    @meeper pretty sure its an old notice. batteries generally aren't removable and they do tend to be a bit smarter these days. (thinkpads do charge cap, steam deck supports it though valve has it speculate when to full charge or not.)

    then you get LiFePo batteries that *like* being charged to 100%, though those aren't being put in mobile things.

    if it were up to me we'd be using manganese-dioxide nanowire batteries, as in lab tests those just... don't wear out.
