@dcc Mostly our http_file_share so that it goes through Nginx and exposes the URL like domain.tld/file_share/file vs. share.domain.tld:5281/file_share/file.

@7666 I'm not going to make it. I've already basically accepted that I'm not going to own a home in this country. It's unacceptable how expensive and inaccessible housing is in the United States and it's pretty wild that there isn't a massive and constant outcry about it from the citizenry.

"Real communism" has indeed never been tried before. But, it probably can't genuinely become actualized in the idealized, most literal utopian sense.

"Real capitalism" has been tried multiple times throughout history and every time it both ends up badly for virtually everyone involved and also destroys itself almost overnight. That's kinda a paradox about capitalism---it needs constant moderation and control in order to actually function in a productive way. I liken it to fissile material where it is capable of producing immense wealths of energy if properly moderated and controlled, or otherwise it's an absolute toxic disaster.

@mischievoustomato You can pretty easily fix OMEMO issues, they're just annoying when they happen (and it's been a long while since I've dealt with them, truthfully). It's a lot more difficult to troubleshoot lost encryption keys on Matrix.

Comparing Discord and Telegram to Matrix or XMPP is a bit incomparable. These are different beasts. @sendpaws

I don't think I'd make my own Docker file. I wonder if there are pre-built AI/LLM containers out there like that, though.

I'd much rather have minor annoying issued re OMEMO use in large MUCs (which shouldn't even be used therein anyway, really) vs. having to try explaining to normies encryption keys and that they have to download and store these keys somewhere for future use if they want to login to Matrix and have their account secured and participate in encrypted chats. Or, Matrix/Element just otherwise not being able to read encrypted messages generally, which is often the case.

I've not had that ever, yet. But, that sounds more like an issue with the availability of the people you're trying to reach vs. XMPP as the protocol. If someone's shit is down or not being kept online anymore than you're not going to be able to reach them on any protocol. It's weird to me that you'd bring this specifically up---it's like complaining about using a telephone because you can't call numbers that don't exist or have been shut down. Like......yeah? Lol? @sendpaws
