    @whynothugo screencopy is still a mr, wlroots has a patch almost ready for it. foreign toplevel list is already implemented by wlroots 0.18.0 too

    so at least for sway and co. it might be doable pretty soon. i'm unsure if kde will implement either tho, i do know cosmic ACKd the screencopy one so it might

    either way i'm hopeful

    @whynothugo @nikitonsky this should be doable once ext-screencopy-v1 lands.

    you can use ext-foreign-toplevel-list to iterate and get foreign handles to all the toplevels, then screencopy a frame from each, and composite the final result (for simplicity, one could even dump that into a gimp .xcf file and let it do the editing layering, or, yknow, implement an image editor too)

    i do agree it's usage is limited on tiling window managers, at most you can compose things across workspaces more easily, but not much benefit beyond that

    @lanodan the case i have for this, the function keeps going doesn't matter which branch runs, if or loop

    but yeah i usually prefer early returns if that fits the logic flow

    @mgorny i've also seen websites that block the user, and say "click accept to continue" with a big arrow pointing to where chrome shows the notification pop-up

    all so they can sell ads while you're not even on their website

    i hate the modern web

    not very standalone when you pull half of the frameworks of a full fledged DE
