@tieflingdio Canon is whatever you want to be canon for your game. There's so many options to give folks ideas. Grab what you like.
Also, lore is always contracdictory. There so much academics in history which argue of what is the truth.

@silverwizard @tieflingdio I view the high/grey/wood/valley/ghost/sea/sun/moon/etc. designitation as cultural identifiers for standard D&D elves.

@tieflingdio I think it was mentioned in the Complete Book of Elves but it's been a hot minute since I read that.

I'm not a fan of Gygax nor of his ideas nor ideology.

@tieflingdio Faerun elves are rather standard D&D elves. Athasian elves are different though.

@tieflingdio I'm not familiar with D&D 3rd ed stuff maybe they changed it then. I just remember that during AD&D 2e and D&D 4th era, the FR elves were standard D&D elves.

@youronlyone My favourite modern hack of THAC0 is in Scarlet Heroes where THAC0 is a target number.
They took the formula of d20+modifier must equal or higher than THAC0-AC and changes it to:
D20+modifier+AC must equal or higher than THAC0. #ttrpg

@silverwizard I've played and run Call of Cthulhu and the investigators are the protagonists of their horror story. A protagonist is not necessarily a hero. A protagonist is the main character that you follow in the story and who drives the story forward. Without investigators looking into the mystery, you don't drive the story forward since the mystery will stay hidden.

@silverwizard I'm familiar with protagonize but not with deprotagonize. And google is not helping. What is it? Also, what games are you including that does it?

I don't know why PC still stands for player character when protagonist character is right there. #ttrpg
