     @ericmpaq @tieflingdio Wait, Standard D&D Elves is a weird idea.

     The High/Grey/Valley/Wood elves of Greyhawk are what I think of as "standard", whereas the Sun and Moon of Faerun are typically slightly off model?

     @tieflingdio I'm not familiar with D&D 3rd ed stuff maybe they changed it then. I just remember that during AD&D 2e and D&D 4th era, the FR elves were standard D&D elves.

     @ericmpaq Rly? I have the old 3E FR setting book and they were all over the place with heights, looks, etc but not sure if that's part of WotC's flatten and simplify discards now. Mostly lifespans and stuff seemed the same tho?

     @tieflingdio Faerun elves are rather standard D&D elves. Athasian elves are different though.

     @ericmpaq nope, me either and I hate that ppl stan for him when he was very clear on his views more than once. But eh, his kid is so much worse I think. Or just too dumb to shut up.

     Oh, I need to peek at that then! Hn. But then I think faerun elves arent standard so who knows...

     @tieflingdio I think it was mentioned in the Complete Book of Elves but it's been a hot minute since I read that.

     I'm not a fan of Gygax nor of his ideas nor ideology.

     Prob Gygax has even figured out I dunno, boob sizes bc sir was kind of a sexist creep.

     @silverwizard @tieflingdio I view the high/grey/wood/valley/ghost/sea/sun/moon/etc. designitation as cultural identifiers for standard D&D elves.

     @tieflingdio Canon is whatever you want to be canon for your game. There's so many options to give folks ideas. Grab what you like.
     Also, lore is always contracdictory. There so much academics in history which argue of what is the truth.

     @ericmpaq @silverwizard I'd like, check the lore but the lore is so confusing and contradictory, ugh. Me over here trying to write a guide to tiefs and there are about 666,137 versions that are or were 'canon.'
