Saw a BRILLIANT billboard at Central and Thomas today.
“Greetings from Saguaro National Park. Reduced visiting hours made possible by D.O.G.E.”

I would be much more impressed with this if he’d managed to get a moose to make the prints. https://flipboard.com/@cbcnews/top-stories-01r3k2ttz/-/a-niEFii9mRm6lwLcU7e_emA%3Aa%3A107108217-%2F0
Wifey had a cold the week before our trip and hasn't shaken the cough. Sent her to see a doctor in #Taiwan today.
No appointment or health insurance. A few minutes wait. Diagnosed with bronchitis. Several medicines were prescribed and dispensed. Cost under $22 USD. 30 minutes.
Doctor said to her, “You had a cold and you didn't go to the doctor?”
"No, no one goes to a doctor for a cold in the US. With a $40 copay and having to schedule weeks in advance, what's the point?”
@ianRobinson mine has been acting very weird since about two weeks before the update.
A story in multiple parts.
In 1998, just married, Chuwan and I were in #Taiwan packing up some of her belongings to move to the US.
In a cupboard was a large, pink, stuffed bunny. Chuwan explained that it wasn’t really her childhood bunny. Someone she knew bought it for their unborn child, but when the child was a boy, they didn’t want a pink bunny, so they gave it to Chuwan.

Now that it’s done, I will say this: NEVER HAVE I EVER seen a show that can be in a situation where, for example, “The warp will blow up in 30 seconds” and they manage to pack 5-10 minutes of dialog about their feelings into that “30 seconds.”
That’s been a joke about ticking bombs on TV and movies for decades, but Disco came along and said, “hold my beer.”
(Writers, tip for you: all you need do is change “30 seconds” to “10 minutes.”)
When I heard that vinyl records were making a comeback, at first I thought it was a collective joke (like a flash mob or something,) then I realized it was a massive practical joke being played on people.
But after seeing this news piece, which is the next “logical” step on the path back to the Edison wax cynlinder photograph, by way of the 8-track tape, I’m convinced this is far more sinister. They’re just trying to burn the word to the ground.
Apparently, there’s a reason why libraries are a bit anal about the way the books are shelved.
I know there are two books on the X-Files in there, but I’ll be damned if I can find them.
@MisuseCase @LilahTovMoon Nobody could possibly say four Whoppers a day is a “low number.”
Dare I say, “four Whoppers a day would be an impossible number?”
@verge if only ChatGPT were working, we could ask it how to fix the outage.
@verge “Samsung Gauss” or “Samsung Guess?”
@verge At this point calling crypto an “industry” seems journalistically negligent.
@verge These are for sites in Inglish?
@verge One of the best ideas Apple ever had. Function keys stop being essential a decade ago, and were always inconsistent from one application to the next.
Developers didn’t develop for it, which was the final nail in the coffin, but Apple made a serious misstep by not implementing it across the entire product line, thus not giving developers incentive to do so.
They probably should have eaten the extra cost, too.
@pixelfed @simonwood Care to explain how it’s actually accomplished?
