When they find out that replies are not controlled (after installing your software from a landing page emblazoned with “now supports reply controls”) they will get mad at you.

You’re not listening to the users, who prefer the ability to block replies altogether rather than to simply ignore them as you propose here.

For example, elsewhere in this thread @elena writes “Thing is, as a woman on the internet, I prefer to see what people are saying to me... so I can block accounts or entire servers if needed.”

Accusations of “Instrumentalisation of Antisemitism and the Holocaust” are nothing more than an attempt to normalize bigotry. It would be like saying all accusations of anti-black racism should be treated with suspicion b/c they’re just ways to further a political agenda.

You can disagree that something is racist or antisemitic, but arguing racism/antisemitism don’t exist is a step too far.

@mima It is somewhat disturbing how often identical terminology and shibboleths are thrown around. "Jewish supremacy," "Zionist media," hatred of the ADL, etc

@mima The "Israel uses Jews as human shields" motif is just another way to blame antisemitism on the Jews. It's kind of like the Nazi talking point that Jews must have been expelled from so many places because they deserved it. Millennia of experience indicate that antisemitism is caused by antisemites.
