Is there an operation that can invert the value of a boolean? I think not!

To me, the most surprising thing about game theory is just how many real-world scenarios eventually resolve into the Prisoner's Dilemma.

I feel like this instance doesn't fit me anymore.

Do I look for a new instance that:
- Has a generous character limit (>= 2000)
- Solidly blocks Threads, Bluesky and other toxic capitalist projects.
- blocks mastodon.social & co
- Isn't Mastodon or one of its soft forks

Or do I just quit this thing entirely?

I learned how to type on a real (i.e. mechanical) typewriter, so every program I've written is strongly typed, regardless of what programming language it's written in.

The largest community can afford to be ignorant of the others, and the others are forced to adapt. There's no easy fix and the whole situation is a fuck.

The situation would improve if the international community could agree on a common language that isn't the national language of any real place, but native English speakers (from a place that is not the USA) cannot flee and are basically fucked.

Now it's very easy to conclude from this that Americans are respectless assholes who are stealing our online spaces, but the real problem is that the internal language of a very big and well-represented country is also the internal language of several less well-represented countries, plus an international community of second-language speakers. And when they mix because geographically separate places can now inhibit the same virtual space online, there's friction.
