This book just used the phrase "played [his] butt cheeks like bongos."
I refuse to be the only person in the world cursed with this knowledge.

Just look at these perfect puffy clouds, y'all.
I'm not sure what kind they are technically- cumulus? nimbostratus? Stratocumulous?
Therefore, I'm sticking with perfectly puffy and white.
@FlashMobOfOne nice work! It makes me hungry just to see that, if I'm honest
I was wondering why my quads weren't sore after doing heavy squats yesterday.
Apparently I just hadn't used them yet. Did one squat in today's workout, and there it was.
4 rounds
Run 400
15 goblet squats
It hurt. The running was onto the window on the way back, too. At least there was some sun
@FlashMobOfOne I feel like I have really lost conditioning. I did cut back on the amount of walking I was doing last year to heal from injuries, which could be part of it.
It could also just be a busy couple weeks and not making the best food choices. I should crawl myself back into the good food train
Just did a 5k on the hotel elliptical. While I'm happy I moved, I do have to complain about the complete lack of changing elevation/resistance on the "rolling hills" program. Felt more like a stair well.
Maybe it's not that I've lost my confidence in my ability to solve problems. Maybe it's that I'm so exhausted from solving problem after problem after problem that I didn't choose that I can't spare any for problems of my own
I automatically started counting the pause between lightening and thunder last night as a storm rolled through.
It made me wonder if that's common in places where you measure in kilometers instead of miles.
The rough math here is that a storm is about a mile away for every 5 seconds between them.
Can anyone recommend an online store to buy mending supplies, like a darning egg and speedweave loom? I don't really have a local place these days
Oops! Forgot to add I'm in the US for shipping purposes.
@FlashMobOfOne ugh. It’s rough to be the one adulting
I really want to stop those fuckers from stealing my joy and energy. They don’t get to do that.
(Which fuckers, specifically, is kind of irrelevant. And they’re a rotating cast of characters)
@FlashMobOfOne @wheeljack I’ve been trying to figure out if a foot injury is actually healing or if the cold weather just means I haven’t worked out enough to notice it hurting
I work out way too much to experience this much difficulty opening a jar of salsa!
@wheeljack I am consoling myself by remembering that I fried my grip strength yesterday with all those deadlifts
@FlashMobOfOne ha! I would say it worries me so much specifically because I work in tech.
Honestly, though, it’s the business models that bug me, not the tech tools
@FlashMobOfOne also, I’m a huge cranky pants in the entire topic and probably not the person with the most reasonable perspective.
@FlashMobOfOne @aronow I see a big difference in having my employer know what I’m doing on their work device/on their behalf and an unknown third-party.
I also know that companies like Zoom and MSFt have rules about how that data is handled (although who knows if it is followed)
@FlashMobOfOne @aronow I suspect the Fedi is more cautious about AI note taking tools than much of the world, fwiw.
I would worry about what topics the note taker is recording- you’re probably not talking about anything super confidential in an interview, but...
The only good thing to say about today’s workout is that it was over fast.
4 rounds of
15 kettlebell ground to overheads
60 seconds of sprinting on the elliptical
I actually like ground to overheads, but breathing was not easy after the first set.
Lift weights faster, I guess
I like talking to people about the things that interest them. People are interesting! I pick up heavy things and put them back down, and I run when no one is chasing me. Love #books, #knitting, #outdoors, #weightlifting, #running and #baking.Happy to shout virtual moral support in your direction.
