@raphael I don’t have an account on any Lemmy instance, and I don’t have much experience with the platform. However, when I open the link you sent, I do see a thumbnail.
I’m in the middle of refactoring the #Vernissage web app to use the new #Angular signals. 😅 I had no idea how many components were already written in there. This is day four, and I’m only halfway through. 🏗️ On the bright side, I’ve cleaned up a ton of code along the way, polished things up, and made it all a little prettier. ✨ By the time I’m done, the whole thing is going to shine so bright, you’ll need sunglasses to look at the source code. 😎
Today in Wrocław, the weather is beautiful. It was great to go out for a morning walk with my camera and take some photos. Pleasant and healthy. I love photography, browsing photos (especially scanned from film), editing them, and sharing them with you. Thanks, everyone, for an amazing year!
I’m really happy with the amount of unit tests in #Vernissage. Pretty much everything that can be tested is covered. They’ve saved my skin more than once already. Thanks to them, I feel a bit more protected against introducing regression bugs. I honestly can’t imagine working without these tests.
I try to scroll through photos shared on the Fediverse a few times a day (obviously, not all of them). It’s amazing to see the incredible work photographers are creating - not just the pros, but everyone. So many of these shots are true masterpieces. Browsing through them is a relaxing experience and makes me incredibly proud of all of you. It’s awesome that you share your work instead of letting it sit hidden away. Your photos have the power to inspire someone out there! https://vernissage.photos/editors
@dansup I won’t deny that being called a weirdo and accused of doing nothing for Pixelfed was deeply hurtful. I’ve invested a great deal into Impressia, dedicating many months of my life to it. The decision to make Vernissage a standalone platform is something I explained and apologized for many months ago in private messages.
I accept your apology and consider the matter resolved. I also wish you a wonderful holiday season and satisfaction in your work on projects in the coming year 🎄✨.
@dansup I don’t understand why you say something and then delete it later. That doesn’t mean what you wrote disappears or never existed. Write on the internet in a way that doesn’t require you to delete it afterward. Otherwise, it means you have a big problem managing your emotions. This isn’t the first time you’ve insulted me. I really don’t need to explain what my plans are or what I’m working on.
@dansup Can you tell me where I’m wrong? It’s not possible for a single developer to create and maintain platforms like Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, etc. Especially in addition to having a full-time job. I have many years of experience in IT, so I can confidently say this. This isn’t hate, just a realistic view of the problem. I know it’s hard to see it this way.
@dansup Mate, I have no idea what you’re talking about. I created an iOS app for Pixelfed because there’s still no official app. The app on TestFlight is written in a way that doesn’t suit me at all. When you’re working with an open API and code, it’s hardly surprising that someone might use that API.
Pixelfed is not developing at all. It has tons of bugs.
I didn’t force anyone to join Vernissage, and all my communications were transparent.
Is it possible for a single person to create and support, over an extended period, an alternative to Instagram or TikTok (even more complexed ones distributed across multiple servers and with mobile applications)? Come on 😝.
@dansup Whole idea about fediverse is about cooperation between different platforms even if they have similar functionality.
I admire your work. Personally, however, it seems to me that you are trying to do too many things at once. It is not possible for one person to do so many projects (after work). I understand that you love doing it, but you need to get some distance from it and think about it. It will be good for your health as well.
@dansup Soon I will change the name of the Vernissage client for Pixelfed so people get used to it.
Vernissage will become an independent platform (which will not happen soon, if at all). If this happens then it will be to the complete benefit of the users as they will have more choice and be able to choose the platform that suits them better.
I ❤️ Pixelfed but after several months of using it I realized that it’s not best platform for my needs.
Today I improved the user profile in #Vernissage (web) a bit. I added latest followers section, buttons for bookmarked and liked lists with photos. And other small changes and fixes.
@dansup Something is wrong with unfollowing hashtags. I stopped following all of them a few hours ago, but new posts with these hashtags are still appearing on my timeline (on Pixelfed web and in the API).
Is there any list of following hashtags in the Pixelfed web?
Followed tags almost implemented in the #Vernissage. Great that @dansup has added this feature to the #Pixelfed API! Now tests and soon I will send new version to Apple 😊.
@dansup Hey. First I have to finish iPad version and then I will check the backlog. Maybe I will do something with Stories, but I don’t want to promise anything 😉. I’m impressed how many things and how fast you can implement new features and new softwares 👏.
