The Sora announcement by OpenAI is kinda frightening/exciting and Marques does a really good job discussing the implications of this new technology.

@phiofx I'm not exactly sure but you might be thinking of @ohm? OpenHistoricalMap is sort of like OSM (mostly uses the same tech, tools, apps, and other software) but is intended to map the complete geographic history of the Earth whereas OSM is intended to document Earth as it actually is right now.

While doing some editing in #OpenStreetMap, I stumbled onto this dramatic transformation at Domoroy Point in Barangay Matayum, Cataingan, Masbate, #Philippines 🇵🇭. In a bid to boost tourism, the local government created the huge man-made Matayum Lagoon.

You can see the transformation by switching to different aerial imagery layers. Mapbox at the top shows the area before the lagoon was created, the middle from Bing with the initial excavation, and the bottom from Esri with the finished lagoon.

@youronlyone there are ways to tag in #OpenStreetMap if a Jollibee store is owned/operated directly by JFC (tag: operator=Jollibee Foods Corporation), but there's currently no good way to tag that it is a franchise store.

At some point though the ships become so freakishly huge that you lose all sense of scale. 🤪

Based on this figure from this new academic paper, it would seem that #Manila, #Philippines is the most populous well-mapped (> 80% "complete") city in the world in #OpenStreetMap in terms of buildings. And we did it without relying on imports!

Kuwentong #UPCAT ko. I only applied to DLSU (because Zobel) and UP (of course, and because my mom studied there and my sister was studying there then). Stayed overnight at my sister's place in UP BLISS before the exam. Felt feverish while taking the exam inside an air-conditioned room at Bocobo Hall. Slept a lot afterwards to recover. But it was worth it because I ended up getting into the top 50 among *all* examinees and thus I got the elite Oblation Scholarship. 😊

@pfefferle another problem is if WP is installed under a subdirectory like domain.com/blog (and leaving the root domain to be handled by some other CMS). The identifier probably needs to incorporate the whole path and not just the domain.
