Setting up a private #Minecraft java server with #Spigot was actually quite easy. Used the same way as I did before with my bedrock server;

* systemd
* spigot.service; tmux -> java -jar spigot.jar
* #tailscale

Now will try to add Geyser as a proxy for bedrock clients.

Not sure why raving so much about season 3 of Picard. Sure, it feels like an old TNG episode. But not sure if that is a compliment or says more about the cast. Entertaining but contrived. Better than season 2, but I wouldn't recommend it to a new audience.

At the moment relying on a #jabber/XMPP solution and fallback to Nextcloud talk for minor things. This last one is NOT an endorsement, as it does not do federation and us very very very bare in it's approach, but works for reminders.

I am not considering running this myself yet, but cost of managed seems to justify it.
