@gbraad I don't believe windows has a rootkit, as why would m$ need that?
It is correct that windows is proprietary malware cleverly disguised as an OS considering it contains extensive spying features including a keylogger, plus a universal backdoor (windows update) that can be used by m$ to do anything with their computers.
Linux isn't even an OS - it's only a kernel.
It is correct that Linux is proprietary software, as what is claimed to be the "source" distribution contains proprietary software in a binary only form.
