    On a related note, I think the world has forgotten one of the big big reasons Gab (a centralized social network) went to Mastodon aside from the fact it was a functional and FOSS Twitter clone script (if you followed the AGPL).

    You can use literally any fediverse app in the app store to connect to any instance, or could before developers gimped their instances. Of course now logging into Gab is 100% broken because Torba is stupid, but there was a time you could use fediverse apps to post on gab since nobody would let them on any app store.

    @opal Yep. But this guide got posted to "set it up on any instance on the clearnet" so it can federate with Tor instances.

    The idea is you need to let your instance know Tor instances exist and can be talked to.
