My brother and I were discussing the new Mac mini rumor of 5 USB-C/Thunderbolt ports. We’re basically curious how it came to that number.

- A pitch deck leaked from marketing company Cox Media Group (CMG) boasts about its “Active Listening" tech - software that can listen to you through your phone

- CMG lists Facebook, Google, and Amazon as clients **of this technology**

- Stop telling us these companies "don't need to listen to you because they can triangulate blah blah whatever”

I wish I didn’t feel like Apple was one of the very few, sometimes only, major tech companies trying to build with privacy in mind. Yes, I get there are arguably places it may or can erode that design. They’re besides the point for now.

And granted, I generally like Apple’s products. But in some ways I also feel like I’m stuck here; I truly wish more of its peers valued our privacy.

If you sub to a new channel but never interact with their content, that actually sends a negative flag to The Algorithm and makes it harder for their content to surface.

I’ve subbed to a lot of smaller channels over the years expecting that would help recommend their content. Guess I should hit my subs list more often instead of just recommended.
