I was so lucky in #Milton , just minor damage, and no flooding, I can't imagine having to finagle that with using precautions. Since I got power back, I lent my generator and gas to another covider in my area but like 30 min away bc I know it's hard to get help, and we all lost many connections through this all, they might not get power back til Thursday
Got power back, omg such a relief. I put the surviving cooler food/wates in the fridge just as the last of my ice packs a d ice were melting. Being #COVIDconscious in an emergency situation is complicated: neighbors want to be friendly but don't understand they can't just chit chat in your doorway and no I'm not going to invite u in, but thank u for checking in on me..
Im totally freaking out about this hurricane Milton. Trying to prep as much as possible. An hour inland from tampa. Trying to also not overwork or overstress. Feeling anaphylactic. Deep breaths. Just gotta go one thing at a time. Brush teeth. Pickup prescriptions and see if I can get gas for generator. Should I bring my ducks in for the storm? Is that a bird flu risk then?
What if i put them in a back room, close the ac vent, towel under the door, with a cr box in that room... There's 9 ducks. I have 3 crates, so they can be in their crates in that room. I may plan for it but if it seems like it's not going to be so bad then just leave them outside. Why am I stressing about my ducks, I should be stressing about us! Ay ay ay.
I have 2 weeks of water, food, meds, and a portable power box with solar recharge. I think we will be ok. We are not in an evac zone or storm surge area. I've never had this high of wind before though .. projected cat 3 or 4 at landfall. We shall test if this house is truly built to cat 3 wind standards.
"AIDS caused by HIV takes up to around 10 to 15 years to make its presence felt, with the initial infection usually barely noticed ... With SARS-CoV-2, immunodeficiency develops in the weeks and months following infection... There is no “cure” for any of the damage caused by SARS-CoV-2 including immune dysregulation."
So we now have a new sign. Ugh. It's like they tainted the word "free" and instead of it meaning empowering individual and human rights it means freedom to harm others with stuff like: you can't require masks in your own business, so are forced to be infected with covid; cities cant close beaches when the water is dangerous to swim in because of too high levels of poop; freedom to make ppl work in heat with no protections; freedom to literally pave the roads with toxins. So much "freedom".
Im really happy they built this. It's the least we can do as a community and I hope they make more of these for people, I know we have huge homeless population here:
Decreased threshold for infectivity has been modeled in newer variants, suggesting SARS-CoV-2 infection can occur from 100 virus copies of Omicron variant.
TRANSMISSIBILITY
As of 1/22/2024, COVID-19 has caused at least 774,075,242 infections and 7,012,986 deaths globally. In the United States 1,169,666 deaths have been confirmed. Cases and fatalities are likely underestimated.
I don't understand why anyone would fight me that our federal government should prioritize providing indoor air quality standards, similarly to how they do outdoor. Knowing #COVIDisAirborne#CovidIsNotOver#LongCOVID , it's more obvious than ever. I honestly don't know what you can do with freedom if you can't breathe, and right now the govt is forcing people to be exposed to Covid in order to work, get healthcare, attend public schools, etc and yeah that should be a big deal to everyone.
@TonyStark Asthma is increasing because of rampant pollution, respiratory illness spread, no indoor air quality standards, and Medicare would get those inhalers for a few bucks, so inequality and healthcare issues. This is a bandaid on a bullet hole. You can insult those who vote 3rd party but we are trying to actually solve the problem, which I believe Jill Stein can do, so please don't take offense for me viting for the candidate who's solutions align with solving the problem
If you do not provide a virtual option, you shouldn't be allowed to say the words "accessibility". God knows you aren't providing a masked and ventilated area, or testing and educating people on proper isolation, all while #Covid is blooming out there, still killing 1000/wk, injuring and disabling more-- so the least you can do is open a lap top and zoom it live, it takes minimal effort to have a person do that and give space to those with the "disability" of not being a callous ignorant jerk.
I cannot vote for a president that will willfully ignore #covid and #LONGCovid in his term and in his #SOTU speech. I said it once and I will say it again, sometimes you have to evolve systems and traditions because-- there's a freaking airborne viral pandemic that's still killing and disabling and chronically injuring people and your traditions and systems mean nothing if you ignore that. Nothing. Which is exactly what you will get in return from me in a vote.
