@abolisyonista A few years ago, I was at the local BLM support march... And once the 'march' component was over and we were at the final location, the organisers got up and literally told us that, "if there were any problems, we should go talk to the police who were keeping us safe."

Which uh... Not at all ironic considering the whole point of BLM marches, y'know.

@anarchopunk_girl @riotmuffin I like theory, too! But there's a huge gulf of difference between liking theory and feeling like we can't do anything except recreate the precise structures we claim to critique, lol.

Like, if I wanted to go to a conference where all the "discussions" are actually presentations where I'm not able to participate and where there's nothing but seminars... That could be done in academia. It'd be nice to see a wider range of things happening, and that's... just... not really a consideration.

Not only is it entirely *not feasible* and *unlikely* (because, again, all schools are structured around the *interests of the state*), but it's also just... ignoring all of the other potential avenues for learning things.

It's still maintaining the workerist society we currently exist within. It's still privileging certain skills over others. It's still atomising them into *individuals* rather than us remembering that we can do things *collectively*.

"Teach it in school" is literally the laziest way of solving a problem, especially when that problem is largely a result of alienation!

Is exactly the same. It's always "teach it in school," which is a solution that never engages with what *school actually is and does*.

I keep seeing this with regards to every single problem: We just need to educate kids!

... Except... are these people paying attention to what's happening to *all* of our schools? Because that's not going to work.

@abolisyonista Same, same. And I still *try* to work with orgs when I need to, but I've definitely moved away from that being explicitly where I go.

Especially because the IWA-related one near me has worked with and supported "anarcho"-nationalists. 🙃 And also refuses to actually deal with harassment and abuse that takes place within their section.

Also, they seem to find it very strange and confusing that marginalised genders won't work with them! As if it's complicated to figure out how the anarchomachos in the group make it uncomfortable for most of us.

When I posted about how this issue exists within a whole range of anarcho-syndicalist organisations, I got so many messages from people in Europe who either left IWA-related orgs *or* tried working with them only to feel excluded from the start. (Same also applies to the SWERF rhetoric they allow to proliferate, too.)

CNT Barcelona is engaging in pretty shitty behaviour.

As per sources, they're working with known transphobic organisations (such as Feministes de Catalunya) and hosting speaking engagements by people like Silvia Carrasco (who snitched on anarcho-syndicalists that were striking at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).

And also, they're working with *the fucking Mossos* (a police force in Catalonia). Because they're having the Mossos protect them from whatever consequences they *definitely* deserve.

People are calling for them to be defederated from the CNT Sindicato for weaponising resources and connections to further transphobic propaganda.

CNT Bcn already harbours abusers and kicks out people who voice their concerns about them, so this is just adding to their list of issues.

@FarmingWarMech They're both so easy, though! We use a moka pot [caffettiera] every day here, and they're just... really simple. But it does take getting used to it, especially if it's not a common piece of equipment for your kitchen.

Seeing as I live with an Italian, it is a fairly common one there.
