@Moon The risk/ reward calculus is very lopsided. Too much to lose, won't fight is pretty apt. The amount of power a relatively small amount of people have to inflict damage for wrong think is depressing.
Barring a huge social upheaval - I don't see this changing.

Nor the people to handle the security and compliance nightmares. The (rapidly consolidating) health care "chains" sure. That seems reasonable.
I'd settle for outright banning drug advertising being a decent start.

If people never have trivial access to whatever thing causes their brain to trigger the spiral they can still be productive and useful people. It's trite, but that will literally tilt the odds of dooming some future genius to being a useless druggy.

BUT... I also suspect that number didn't move the needle in any meaningful way.
