@BeAware For the @pixelfed.social it has been many months, if not a year.
I don’t think waiting is going to clear it.

Got an interesting problem here.

I created a Pixelfed account ages ago, perhaps a year, @missingbrighton@pixelfed.social which I subsequently deleted. It wasn’t for me.
Recently I created @missingbrighton@gram.social to see if Pixelfed was anymore suited, but it wasn’t. I have deactivated this account.

But both accounts are still visible in a search and appear to be active.
Can someone see if they can see the circled accounts, so I know who to contact.

@_elena I suggest rather than getting him to swap from something he has likely used most of his working life, you look to ensure his setup is as secure as it can be.
He is probably happy with his setup and there is probably no *direct* equivalent, without having to change how he does things.
I’m not quite in his age bracket and I find using a Mac a challenge.

@_elena Personly speaking I’m just happy with a ⭐️. A reply is always welcome but I would never expect one.

I have read that we shouldn’t ⭐️ as they have little value in boosting visibility but I disagree. It just seems a very polite thing to do, if possible.

@_elena @william_1844 I’ve been toying with Friendica, to overcome the 500 character limit of Mastodon and frankly I really can’t get it to function as it should.
It might be the server I picked or there is no dedicated ipadOS app. I’m having to use the Mastodon app and it’s not stellar.
My experience of the Fediverse is while it’s a great idea, in practice it is more than a little clunky.
Mastodon works well, but when I’ve strayed elsewhere it’s been less good.

@pixelfed @dansup If I delete my account on PixelFed, is the username available to be refused?
I created the account and then discovered I could login with my Mastodon account, which would have been much better. I would like keep the username associated with both accounts.

The media is predominantly right wing and they are only interested in swivel eyed loons.
