We should make private prison illegal. Its creating a profit motive for crime and for making more actions illegal. It can not be made more perverse than that.

I always appreciate an effort to repay but what I really want for repayment is their effort in helping others the next time they have a chance to help.

I dont need to be paid back, I want more folks helping. It selfish, know; I may need help later on and I want more folks helping to increase my chance of getting help if/when I need it.

I think of it as starting a network of helpers instead of just a single completed transaction.

Note the difference in feet and bill color.

@joeo10 when the penalty for violating a law is just a financial amount means that the law only applies to us little people. A #bigCorp just passes the bill on to the #consumer.
How about requiring the big corp to issue new stock to raise the amount needed. That will dilutes the stock, lowering the value of each share of stock. That way the owners pay the price not the consumers that were damaged by the crime.
