@cheddarcrisp @inthehands @DeliaChristina Unfortunately, it's not the reporters that are failing us. It's the editors and owners of the media outlets.
I've left all of the major media outlets; it's possible to find good reporting outside of them.

@inthehands Feels like you’re describing the US election. Sorry.
@dogzilla @inthehands It’s easy to make fun of this study, but the fact is it’s *the first of its kind.* Sure, it’s blindingly obvious. But there must be studies, facts, provable stuff, before we can get laws passed.
Yes, there are those that don’t care about facts. (looking at you, MTG) But some do. Must. Have. Proof. First.
We need more of this. Much more.
@david @inthehands What stands out to me is how this is just the wrong tool for the job, and NV insists on using it. Generative “AI” isn’t about making decisions, it’s about spewing what it thinks you want to hear.
It’s like using a tall building to stir eggs for an omelette.
*and a not-very-good tall building at that.
@dangillmor Great reporting, what a lousy company. I’ve got a Tesla now, and will gladly dump it for a better EV when one comes along. I’ve got my eye on a few.
I’d argue that in today's “next quarter's profits” economy and such lax regulation the company is almost bound to scoff at the laws; I wonder what other auto manufacturers do. Of course, this means we’ll need high, impenetrable guardrails/fines and enough regulators to impose them. At bottom, a political question.
@inthehands
That would be my first choice, but it’s probably already spent.
@inthehands @lisamelton
The city should be required to repay the businesses -cash- for all they paid to these off-duty cops. No documentation needed by the businesses, just “I paid this much” and here is your truckload of cash.
Maddening.
Democrat. Cooking, carbs, and lots of walking to work it off.If you’re using profanity, I’m probably not going to boost or favorite even if you’re spot-on.
