@abolisyonista my main concern really about Cardinal Tagle becoming pope is the possible effects it might have on SOGIE bill, legalization of divorce, abortion, and same-sex marriage.

@abolisyonista oohh I was too young to remember that. I was talking about a piece I read about a conservative cardinal who got excommunicated eventually.

But also, now that we're talking about it, is it a valid anxiety that CBCP might pull another stunt like this should a Filipino become pope? I know they opposed Duterte since the start of his campaign, but RH bill and stuff around marriages are a different thing.

No one really gets excommunicated from the Catholic church these days, so if you're one of them… yikes.

As much as I try to stay away from AI, I think some functionalities in the #Fediverse can and should be automated.

Like detecting a post's language? I keep forgetting to tag my posts the correct language, and apparently others too. Language filters don't work as a result. I think posts should be able to be auto-tagged based on a detected language.

Quiet quitting this, quiet quitting that. But no one talks about quiet pay cuts, which is when your salary isn't adjusted for inflation. So when you've been receiving the same salary for the past 3 years, you're actually taking pay cuts because your money has less value now.
