Is this a question of masculinity or of teenagers in general learning what to do with their aggressive impulses?

@mnl dude, you were lucky to have those! Try finding aggressive _female_ role models as a teenager in the 90ies lol. I very vividly remember the revelation it was for me to watch Jasmin Tabatabei beat up cops & break out of jail in 'Bandits' - but that was pretty much _all i had_. Later i found music and such but a lot of the things i was into say, from 18-24 was really me catching up on things i wished i could have had earlier.

@mnl Yes, I suspect today would be easier. But I haven't been keeping up with images of feminine brutality in the last 10+ years or so, so I am not even entirely sure 🙃

@woodbark @radeen uhhhh, these all sounds super tasty and I hadn't heard of any of them yet 😅. How convincing do you find the "idea of a new ecological class" in the Latour? My toenails tend to curl a bit whenever people try to do new fancy things with the term "class", but does this one make sense to you?

@dymaxion While I appreciate all the people putting the clickbaity headline into context, what I I have looked at from the links posted regarding the infrastructure impacts _if_ the AMOC collapses really just looks like very rough spitballing to me.

Sure, it might not happen at all. It might happen rather 60 years from now than 2. We will find out as we live it.

But, umh, like, shouldn't there be actual plans and preparations in place in case it _does_ happen?

(I'd prefer to heat the house differently, but for now this is pretty much our only option. And after the fluctuations in wood prices in the last 2 years as well as a winter that lasted a bit longer than expected, it is _really_ comforting to just have these piles for now.)

ufff, I just realized that apparently when I unmute notifications from an account I had previously muted here I cannot recover the pre-muting convos with that account. so muting is not just a potentially temporary not-seeing, but rather a never seeing again. Ouch. Would have saved some stuff first if I had known.

@woodbark wait what do you mean? for the future that might be a thing, but in the future I will know to save whatever I want to keep anyways. right now I am mostly partly still hoping I might have overlooked a way to recover past messages :’|
