AMPS is #FOSS , it basically works in three steps, DL is the first script, then processing and concatenation are the second two scripts. If one wants to DL from from other IM systems, one would need to substitute the Telegram DL for a different script.
Hi @strypey@adam I want to share a tool that might be of interest for that community. Asynchronous/Audio Messaging to Podcast System (#AMPS#podcast). Here:
@cisene This looks like a great site and institution and community.
I'm not very deeply involved in podcasts or podcasting. I just had this idea for using asynchronous formats, as a medium or format for content essentially, and realized I could build it for others.
I would love to connect with people in this community, and see how I could help them use this software explore this medium.
3/5 Asynchronous podcasts are a unique format, shaped by the parameters (pros & cons) of asynchronous audio conversation. AMPS could facilitate long interviews and conversations—people can pose questions and take time to reflect. Interviews could unfold over weeks, but be listened to in one sitting. I hope others explore this medium with their own objectives and creativity. #FOSS#opensource#Python#Linux#Telegram#podcast#AMPS
2/5 Purpose: Take audio from a conversation in a Telegram IM group chat and 1) download these files, 2) process them, and 3) concatenate them into a single file ready to be uploaded as a podcast. #FOSS#opensource#Python#Linux#Telegram#podcast#AMPS
@clacke What is so interesting about this #HongKong#UrbanExploration continuity / contiguity / agglomeration mapping, is that, while this entire structure is composed of planned sections, and indeed connectivity is clearly an objective in the planning throughout, yet total extent I'm guessing isn't intentional. As best evidenced by the ever so small gap in the chain.
Hong Kongers who fear slight drizzles, wet toes, and holding umbrellas will forever be in your debt!
@gemlog@clacke There's a lot of opportunity in processing the text of documents for English language editing. My company Oceaneditors.com is forced to use word format because our clients write their manuscripts in word (English language editing work). Though I do use Libre office myself to work with their docs. At the very least, the word format is available as text. It might make sense to:
convert word to libre --> parse --> convert back to word for the clients.
@notclacke #HongKong is awesome. I'm worrying that if I move out of HK, everywhere will feel like a small town, and paradoxically I also won't have access to wild areas as well.
