    wherever that happens, it's because of corruption, not any reasonable preference. no one in one's right mind goes about demanding others to deprive one of autonomy and control over oneself. demands for proprietary features thus like follow from feature provider's influence on regulations to favor the provider's business, at the expense of others who become mandated to submit to the provider's control over their own business.

    'been reading about that, but I come out with the distinct impression that the emergence of imperialism and monopolies came about when feudalism fused with capitalism and defeated competition. this thought has been somewhat hard to explain, but it seems to explain to me a lot of the problems that we often (mis?)assign to capitalism, and that varoufakis is now IMHO correctly reassigning to (techno)feudalism

    you know those posts that show all the trademarks and companies under a single conglomerate, that we might otherwise assume to be competing businesses? news is no different nowadays. there's no more than a handful of dominant news distributors worldwide, and they're all mostly aligned with each other.

    tem muito disso, sim. na busca por uma coalizão maior, o movimento político do software livre acaba atraindo não só coletivistas, mas também individualistas, e cada um acaba adaptando as ideias à sua visão de mundo

    mas também é comum pessoa ouvir recomendação de ação individual que se soma em ação coletiva e interpretar como se fosse questão de culpa. essa reação eu nunca entendi e nunca vou entender. não é porque você tem ao seu alcance as chaves para escapar do jugo, em caso de sucesso da ação coletiva da qual poderia participar, que tem culpa pela própria opressão, nem por ter medo dos riscos da ação não ser suficientemente coletiva para lograr êxito.

    é uma reação comum mas muito indesejável, que acaba afastando as pessoas do caminho pra emancipação. alguém consegue entender isso pra tentar me explicar de um jeito que eu consiga não só entender, mas contornar essa reação? seria super útil pra mim.

    saber, saber, eu não sei, mas tenho aprendido há vários anos. só por curiosidade mesmo. um amigo falou que eu provavelmente ia gostar, e quando tive oportunidade, comecei e vi que ele tinha razão. tenho observado que tem facilitado o aprendizado de outros idiomas. são aprendizados que, além de divertidos e culturalmente enriquecedores, exercitam a mente

    é a explicação dominante na grande imprensa, que não pode nem quer dar a mão à palmatória, mas não me parece resistir a pensamento crítico: há 4 anos o orçamento secreto já corria solto e as reeleições não chegaram nem perto desse patamar. o que mudou, foi o orçamento secreto, ou foi a conjuntura econômica que, quando favorável, sempre favoreceu reeleições?
