      Flirc
Flirc makes cool things for your media center, as well as supporting unique creative ideas. Raspberry Pi cases that absorb heat without any need for a fan. The Flirc USB that allows you to control any USB device with any remote you pair it with. The Jeff Probe for in house debugging. And more to come!

@hellomiakoda Don't be silly, of course it can! 😆 I haven't used it in quite a few years, but I rekon the lirc driver still just translates the signals to generic keypresses.

@hellomiakoda I have one of the first FLIRC dongles buried in a box somewhere that I used for years with a XBOX360 remote.

@stranded_output I refuse to sacrifice my personal morals/code for convenience. Nor will I forfeit them to the anarchic masses of modern society.

I usually get shit from friends/family for adhering to em, but who cares, they know who I am. 😆

@mroach I've had two old Intel PCMCIA RJ45 dongles in my toolbag for 15+ years that I rewired to be inline crossover and rollover adapters. I rewired a couple other'ns I had each with 3 RCA connectors so we could run the A/V to a second TV on the other side of the building at the shop.

@chrism I want to so bad, but I'm still havin a really rough time movin to it full time from gentoo. Is it impractical to configure everything in the single configuration/hardware .nix files? I like the appeal of doing everything in one file, and would like to do it that way, but everything I read leads me to beleive I should keep my configs modular (flake-like). That seems to me like the wrong way to use NixOS though. Or am I just not gettin it yet?

@mntmn A 6~7in 4:3 screen'd prolly be a good size. And anywhere <500g would be fine I rekon. Not too weigty but a bit'a heft is nice. Fer thickness I'd like to see it stay under 15, but whatever makes the parts fit is what it'll be I guess.
