"Theodicy" in religion. If 1.)God is all powerful &2.) God is all loving, then 3.) why do people suffer? You can deny that 1 or more of the 3 is true, but you have to explain conditions here on earth comporting to reality. This made Bart an atheist. If you've followed Bart for 20+ years you know his spiel. IMO theodicy is about "justice" by definition. Why does the just man suffer? Same answer as why there can be no peace in the world. First we have to find 1 just man.

Be careful of any in positions of authority who think they "know better" than you about ANYthing that's "good for you". Especially if they rely on and cite "experts" when you push back.

He's leaning in the right direction. Give him time. Over the last 20 years i've met so many people who need more time. And they don't have the time needed to catch up on all the reading and thinking i've done. But he's mad as hell and ain't gonna take it anymore. Ready to join the winners. Or at worst the survivors.
