@Flick Having tootled around the mid Atlantic rift on a visit to Iceland, I can indeed confirm it is in the middle.

You need a Peters projection map. It’s amazing how small the countries near the equator look and how huge the ones near the pole look on a Mercator projection.

Without googling, and assuming this is a “trick question”, I would guess Canada as 3rd largest just for this reason - Mexico might actually be larger.

@xzy45 @HebrideanHecate @Gnomeshatecheese I’m also of the opinion that the parents of the bullied child could do worse than to send her to a boxing club/ martial arts club for a term, then give her permission to punch the fuckers.

The parents must also be prepared to stand up to the school when they get arsey about self defence (which they will, because the teachers spend far too much time reading Guardian articles about restorative justice, aka, letting feral children run wild with no consequences).

My parents explained to me when I was young that the only language bullies truly understand is physical retaliation. But also to accept that you yourself may well get hurt in the process - the point is not necessarily to win the fight, but to inflict enough pain on them in the process that they decide you’re not worth the effort.

@Piss_Ant Mercifully Therese Coffey (bottom right, she of the cigars and port and way, way too much lard in her diet) was part of the Truss aberration government and only in post for about 8 weeks.

It has nothing to do with mutual, respectful, human centred enjoyment of sex.

It basically translates as “bend over and take it up the arse and allow us to subject you to all sorts of pain and humiliation while we demand that you pretend you like us doing it to you.”

It is the absolute opposite of being positive about sex. It is Orwellian newspeak for unspeakable sexual abuse.
