@nsarwark I don't see how UBI works with capitalism still in place. We saw with Covid when we gave out a weak UBI and quality of life went up and the economy went up, but then corporations remembered they were corporations and raised prices across the board which has made life for everyone but the 1% worse off.

@davidaugust we moved our family to North Dakota in 2021 from Arizona and it's maps like this that really help me feel like it was the best choice. Sure it's cold, but we have very little Covid and no school shootings so I'll take it.

So in theory if I had a big Bluesky account and wanted to bounce, I could click a few buttons and transfer it all to Mastodon dot notBluesky and be free. Hmm, that is a solid lever against enshittification. Not sure I'll try it still, but I do understand the fascination now and why it is popular. Thanks!

I don't understand why people treat Bluesky like it is immune to enshittification, or in fact like enshittification isn't its intended end point. Do I need to understand tech stuff to get it? Are people just resigned to having ads shoved down their throats 24/7 so they don't care? What am I missing?
