The licenses of Llama and Deepseek contain clear violations of the Open Source Definition, these things are *not* Open Source at a more fundamental level.

The new Open Source AI Definition doesn't even kick in.

    So much noise and disinformation.

@dalias it's a shame that a company is called Open something and has nothing to do with that name.

@dalias The post is about this conference https://allthingsopen.ai/

The famous All Things Open conference, with a special event dedicated to "AI"... really nothing to do with the the company you're thinking about.

In our fast-changing world, Augmented Reality (AR) is becoming the next big thing. It’s like stepping into a new kind of world where things can be more than what they seem. @ariadne I think this is one of the rare cases where it's worth calling a spade a spade. Mr. Hashimoto not only burned bridges and ships but he's trying to set on fire the house we all live in, damaging the whole ecosystem. We have no way to reconcile our positions.

The Open Source community is not trying to get all of #OpenSource out of #CRA's scope, but they do want the development of open source software in the open to be excluded https://blog.opensource.org/diverse-open-source-uses-highlight-need-for-precision-in-cyber-resilience-act/

The final legislative phase of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is starting and the drafts still have issues arising from bad framing by the Commission or Parliament. Read OSI's recommendations to frame the trialogue.

@ariadne I'm starting to think you're biased 😉 go ask around to any researcher in AI, they'll say that the original training data is not strictly necessary.

The US Senate subcommittee on Privacy Technology and Law asked Meta questions about their “leaked” #AI model LLaMa.

Forget for a moment that this is Meta: I fear that if these questions were asked to any #OpenSource developer we’d all be shaking in fear for the whole ecosystem.
