So there are multiple issues with #Spotify. Donating money to #Trump, investing in AI weapon technology for #Israel (read genocide), very or no royalties for artist, etc.

I'm thinking leaving Spotify for a while now. There is one issue and that is my 14 year old son. He is completely in music and listens to a lot of (older) music I also like. He shares carefully curated playlists with me, like we shared mix-tapes back in the days. He uses Spotify to discover music, like we did in the recordstore or festivals back in the day.

So another streaming service with a comparable catalogue is something I can't get around I'm afraid. But all those are big-tech or smaller big-tech (middle-tech, how do you call that)? So I tried 3 options; #Qobuz, #Tidal and #Deezer.

* Qobuz: French. Owned by the British Xandrie SA (website has not https 🤔). Although having a large catalogue (all 3 options are comparable in that aspect), there are a few things holding me back. 1. not an updated (unofficial) #Linux app; 2. the #Android app is not that good IMO. Looks outdated; 3. the onboarding resulted in artists I don't know or don't like; 4. The prices are a bit higher as the two others. I'm on a budget.

Een wijkagent aan je deur? Het kan je als activist zo maar overkomen. Gelukkig wist deze anti-genocide-activist dit goed af te handelen. Nogal een stuntelende agent, maar dat kan ook een trucje zijn. Plant een Olijfboom (waarvan ook deze video) zegt hierover het volgende:

"Absurd dat dit gebeurd. Gisteren werd een anti-genocide demonstrant thuis opgezocht door de politie. Daar maakte ze een opname van. Er werd met de vraagstellingen duidelijk gemaakt dat ze in de gaten gehouden wordt.

In Nederland komt het vaker voor dat mensen die gebruik maken van hun demonstratierecht bezocht worden, alleen maar met de bedoeling om mensen te stoppen gebruik te maken van hun recht. …

**Wat te doen**

In het geval dat een politieagent je benadert via de telefoon of op een andere manier:

* Blijf kalm en geweldloos. Intimidatie is een eeuwenoude strategie om mensen ervan te weerhouden te protesteren en bewegingen te doen groeien.

* Neem het gesprek op. (Je bent niet verplicht te vermelden dat je een opname maakt; het stiekem opnemen van een gesprek waaraan je zelf deelneemt is legaal).

* Beantwoord geen vragen, maar vraag de agent wel om alle vragen te stellen die hij heeft.

* Stel vragen! Op de volgende pagina vind je een vragenlijst opgesteld door een advocaat.

(rhetorical question) Why should Öcalan, the DEM Party or any Kurd trust #Erdogan? (also a rhetorical question) The Turkish state is still targeting #Rojava and Iraqi #Kurdistan. #Kurds in (so called) Turkey are still second-class citizens. People who are celebrating this as some peace victory, are naive and should really know their history. I really do hope there is a good strategy behind this. To be continued.

I must admit (as an anarchist) that this is pretty good. Remember that #CrashCourse is part of #PBS, the US public broadcaster. Therefore I'm worried about their future under the Trump-regime.

But yes I have some criticism and that's about their attempt to have some criticism. At the end they give some bad examples of anarchism, as part of the criticism that because of a lack of central control, everyone against the government can call themselves anarchist. Yes of course everyone can, but that doesn't mean that they are.

Let me explain. Anarchism is not only about anti-government or anti-state. Anarchism is about no authority, therefore no hierarchies and against authoritarianism. As a result anarchists are against every form of #oppression, including economic oppression like #capitalism, gender oppression like #sexism and the #patriarchy, #racism, #fascism, #LGBTIQIA-hate, oppression against #nature and #animals (#ecocide), and yes also against nation #states (and their oppressing tools like the #police, the #military and #nationalism) and of course their governments.

Some call this #intersectional, some call it total liberation/struggle. Our tools are mutual aid, direct action and #prefiguration.
