@slowe I was just thinking about the "screensaver" one a few hours ago - it drives me up the wall because the background picture is doing the *exact* opposite of an actual screensaver!

This is an interesting read, there are some *scary* ideas behind the push for AI in everything, being propagated by the nightmare crew that brought you most of the other terrible stuff to come out of Silicon Valley...

Please help me with a long-term family tech support issue; Is there an easy way on Android to move WhatsApp media (if not the whole app) to the SD card rather than internal memory? Here are the constraints;
- older Samsung (S7 IIRC)
- current data/chats/etc must *not* be lost (included departed friends and relatives)
- rooting is not an option
- Android forks are not feasible either

Bonus points if you've made this work yourself and can explain it! Thank you :)

This scares the hell out of me. Not only are they going to use our photos for a purpose we never consented to, but I would expect the misidentification rate for Black people to be far higher than whatever is claimed. As someone who has been stopped by the police before due to a ridiculous case of mistaken identity, I can only imagine trying to talk them out of an arrest when they say "computer says this is you".

Went for spicy, as recommended here, with a couple of biscuits and some of the gravy. One of my friends, who is a serious cook in her own right, said they were the best biscuits she'd ever tasted!

Arranging to meet a couple of American friends to go to the new Popeyes in Manchester to see if it's worthy of the hype - none of us have been either here or in the US! For those that are familiar with it, what's your flavour - classic or spicy? I don't eat mayo, so I think I'll get chicken and a biscuit rather than a sandwich...

It's making me sick seeing people on LinkedIn fawning over a new Apple ad around "sustainability" as though they haven't been a staunch opponent of the right to repair, or industry leaders in the field of forced obsolescence.

Here's something re: the UK govt's anti-asylum, "small boats" rhetoric. You can argue about whether or not *they're* racist, but the reason they're pushing the issue to the forefront like this is because they think *you* are.
