@FlashMobOfOne I think they had Celtic ancestry and therefore they have a longing for specifics in a whimsical kind of wistful way?
But again, that person's ancestry, and mine, go all the way back in every direction so why does that one matter.

I don't want to shit up someone else's thread, so here it is off on my own away from someone who isn't following me.
They expressed a regret that they knew so little about their Celtic pantheon because of factors.
And it's like, friend, our species showed up like 300000 years ago. You don't know shit about any of their pantheons, why fixate on just the one before today's?
Always struck me as weird.
@gamingonlinux Did they kill Battlestar Deadlock's license for this? Seem sad.
I am so bored of American school shootings that domestic ones don't get much more than a meh out of me before I begin checking if anything actually interesting is going on.
You should probably be suspicious that there's no mainstream political party talking about giving you your privacy back.
I just responded to someone mentioning that a celebrity was unhappy with a very public "Allahu akbar" and I think I offended some people, though not the one Muslim guy in the group hilariously enough.
I love that people are talking about going back to IRC to replace Discord. I hope they all have the courage of their convictions.
@FlashMobOfOne and even then, probably keep them afterward because Americans can't be trusted to elect something that isn't insane.
I would accept it if #Carney spent some money on French submarines capable of delivering a nuclear payload. That would be a worthy military investment.
Everything else is just bullshit designed to please the Americans who are calling our shots even still.
This is fun because when I say abolish the monarchy, I don't just mean Canada's.
Strip them of their titles, nationalize their assets, and damn their names from public memory. Really. Keep a master code list and give each dead royal a 12 digit number, and let nobody ever know their real names.
That seems like a cruel step but it would be a great way to discourage anyone from trying again.
@FlashMobOfOne See, the thing is from my perspective, God isn't all powerful and God definitely isn't all good.
Just the biggest bully on the block.
So you have to make do.
I'd be happier if I didn't believe in God.
As someone who actually believe in God, believe that or not, I love reading this kind of thing.
My first reaction isn't Godly though, it's more along the lines of fuck you you absentee landlord why do we have to do this shit for you? Why do you get the credit? We are kinder to each other, at more cost, than you are with divine power. If you wanted to run away and be silent then you don't deserve the love you get.
Always speak truth to power, even if it is The Power.
I had one of these when I was little.
I wish I still had it.
It's especially fun because the bad guys are so bad but also the good guys so incompetent that they make the bad guys worse.
It's at that interesting point where I think it would just be cheaper for business interests to have him killed.
I still can't believe that someone once explained to a crowd that people appreciate spyware and surveillance because it allows them to get more relevant offers.
They should have been given the same treatment as the first person who expressed that children should go hungry over school lunch debts.
Carney is the beloved banker man doing real-talk about the realities of new order while his party is still oil money and back-to-work legislation and AI and goading on the housing crisis.
Not hopeful, folks.
@FlashMobOfOne I suppose people just long for the stability of vulgar evil and confuse that for having anything good.
Protip: You're not going to convince people living through a housing crisis, and likely with food insecurity, that the economy is fine actually.
Trump just pulled a Biden and a Trudeau both at once. Remember when they said the same thing as this?

Life is a preposterous horror.Money speaks for money, the devil for his ownWho comes to speak for the skin and the bone? The law locks up the man or womanWho steals the goose off the commonBut leaves the greater villain looseWho steals the common from the goose.Une oasis d'horreur dans un désert d'ennui.
