    Excerpt:

"I slept over at a friend’s the other night, and whenever I do, they have a tradition that their guests “pull a card.” My card told me to imagine myself at the top of the mountain. I don’t remember why the mountain. I do remember that it told me to drop the performative stuff. I told my friend that I don’t think I do a lot of that. They told me, didn’t you just tell me earlier that you apologize all the time, even when things aren’t your fault?

    Oh.

    Oh, I get it.

    Sorry.

    Oops."

I can’t account for the goddamned zeitgeist, and this isn’t a list of resolutions. I prefer New Year’s revolutions, anyway. New year, new you, new Revoluciana, or something like that. This is simply some stuff I’m looking toward in the next year..."

I started keeping a list so I don’t put them out of my mind out of habit. I feel better about myself when I want things. Less melancholy. It makes me almost feel like I deserve to have the things I want. Maybe not all of them, but at least some of them."

    Share your joy.

So many crimes to choose from.

Can I just say, though, I think the most boring crime that comes up in basically any burglary/grift story?

    Fencing. Boring.

    Pickpocketing: magic
    Burgling: adrenaline, skill
    Heist: puzzles/planning
    Con: acting/persuasion
    Smuggling: thrill, cleverness
    Getaway driving: vroom vroom

    Fencing: yawn

Has anyone ever written a compelling story about fencing stolen goods? (Seriously asking)

I can't think of a single story about fencing at all that wasn't mostly about the crime(s) that brought the item(s) to the fence.

@salad_bar_breath definitely dangerous. I'm just trying to imagine a story where it's interesting at all. Even in shows or movies where it's an aspect, it just seems like I want to fast forward through that part. I can't imagine how to make it interesting.

I once read a book about (legal) financial derivative trading scandals that was all about the financial mechanisms themselves using financial language and even those stories were fascinating. But somehow I can't find a way to make fencing interesting.

Not that it needs to be, just. I somehow make a mental note of it every time I see the fence in a movie or something, so it just keeps becoming this recurring source of curiosity-- how to make fencing interesting, and when or where has this ever been done?

Don't incriminate yourself, but have you ever wondered, if you were to have lead a life of crime, on your own terms:

    * Which crime you would be best at
    * Which crime would be the most fun

    And, would these two match?

Every once in a while someone will say the word *guy* and for a brief flash I remember that the word *guy* in English comes specifically from Guy Fawkes.

My spouse just came across some pre-transition pics of my hands preparing supper.

But also, holy shit those are a completely different person's hands. They look sooooo different. I had noticed this (joyously) along the way, how the size has gotten smaller and how girly my hands look now 🥰. But this is the first time I've actually compared to an old picture.

    Wild y'all.

What are your best #poverty meals and tips and tricks? 🍚🫘

    *Boosts appreciated*
With the loss of #foodassistance for over 42 million USians, difficult times are ahead. If you don't rely on #SNAP, it will put an overwhelming and potentially insurmountable strain on people you know and care about.

I fucking love the winter and the cold, but I hate the clothes I have to wear for winter because they all make me feel dysphoric. I don't want to hide my body anymore because it's beautiful and it's me and I'm queer/femme AF and it's so difficult to feel queer and femme under so much insulation.

And simply having it be pink or darted in at the waist is not enough to do the trick.

Plus, winter clothes cost so much more money than crop tops.

And they hide my accessories which are also typically helpful when feeling me.

We also believe in heating people not spaces. We heat our home with a wood stove and keep it colder than most USians would think reasonable, especially since it's a drafty old farmhouse that was abandoned for over a decade before we got it.

So, I don't need to wear a coat inside, but I definitely need to wear sweaters and such. And sit under blankets on the couch, a heated blanket for the coldest months. Plus, blankets are cozy.

So, in the winter, which I otherwise adore, I don't have a lot of ways, opportunities, or reasons (aside from dysphoria) to dress in a way that feels more me when the goal is just to feel warm.

This #fascist regime would rather force 42 million of their own citizens starve to death than allow a single #trans person to exist.
