Injected 0.15 mL (6 mg) of estradiol enanthate into the vastus lateralis muscle in my right thigh 💉
I repeated the step of marking out 3 potential injection sites (using the 3-handed method) before injecting, which once again helped me to find a painless injection site 🥰
A reasonable timeframe should be as soon as possible. Realistically, all a medical professional needs to do is get a baseline blood test to check hormone levels & for signs of issues that may affect HRT.
Assuming the person doesn't want to delay starting HRT for fertility reasons, it's then a matter of discussing HRT options, discussing the effects, & offering the most-suitable meds to achieve their own transition goals.
For most folks, a regular injection (subcutaneous or intramuscular) will give a sufficiently-high, stable level enough to suppress the other primary sex hormone.
Commonly-available estradiol esters are valerate, cypionate & enanthate.
Commonly-available testosterone esters are cypionate, enanthate & undecanoate.
Such injections are ideal for monotherapy HRT (i.e., a sex hormone without medication that blocks the other sex hormone).
While it is possible to achieve sufficiently-high levels via transdermal gel or patches, it is typically more-difficult.
& for those on pills, which are typically the cheapest method on prescription, it's just not practical, even if you take the pills sublingually or buccally rather than orally.
As such, if your aim is pure feminisation or masculinisation, you will require a blocker of some kind if you still have hormone-producing gonads.
• Pride-themed umbrella with UV protection (to use as a sun shield). • Pride-themed clothing, accessories, identity / pronoun badges etc. • Pride-themed butterfly capes. • Programmer socks :UwuInTransPrideColours: • Cat ears, plus maybe a choker.
I know there's no ethical consumption under capitalism, but I'd like to support small businesses where possible for Pride month.
Thank you all in advance!!! :BisexualHeart: :TransFemHeart:
If you currently identify as a cis man or cis woman, but:
• You have recurring thoughts of being a different gender. • You would be a different gender, if given the choice. • You wouldn't be fussed if you magically woke up one day as a different gender.
... you might be interested to know that this isn't a common thing for cis folks to do 😅
@emilygorcenski@forestpines It's honestly SUCH bullshit how slow-moving countries medical systems are when it comes to anything that's even slightly progressive 😞
I'll be very surprised if ICD-11 sees implementation in the US though, as it's an international, rather than US, led project :FaceExhaling:
I imagine instead that they'll stick with DSM-5 until DSM-6 comes along 😔
As of ICD-11, which was adopted in 2019 & came into force from 1st January 2022, the pathologised diagnosis for being trans is NOT "gender dysphoria", but rather either of :
1. HA60 - gender incongruence of adolescence or adulthood 2. HA61 - gender incongruence of childhood
