Sent this to a friend who’s wife got one of those emails…

There are federal employees working today, Saturday… a day they don’t normally work… to issue letters firing people.

It is going to take two and a half days to go from Missoula to Missoula.

So this is a new one for me… product comes from Spokane to Missoula (the final destination) and is then sent to Billings… where it will inevitably be sent to… Missoula.

You could walk across Missoula in the time it takes to go to Billings and back.

I just ordered two.

I have an air tag in my camper. One will go there. (and I’m hoping it makes it less likely you could hear it beeping)

And I bought the second just because of the pricing… but I think it will go into the dry bag for my inflatable kayaks.

Both are items I want to work when I need them and hope I never do.

If the other monkeys let this happen, we would say they deserved to starve.

Mastodon.sdg.org has been having issues the last two days and I sincerely believe the ‘pub’ part of ‘activitypub’ was a serious mistake.

If I ran my own instance, how would I retrieve everything that was missed while the server was offline and did not get the pub notifications? #JustWondering

Unpopular opinion: I think that getting rid of the electoral college is the wrong goal.

We need to get rid of the entire concept of states being able to do whatever they want.

When in the Air Force the lab supervisor realized that everything I touched went to shit… so, they put me in charge of QA.

We had one of the lowest failure rates in the service that year.

When working at a nuclear weapons plant and the team wanted to work overtime… they would take me with them. Because, if something is broke… you stay until it is fixed.
